Removing Your Roadblocks

Removing Your Roadblocks

The fastest way to not achieving what you want in life is by allowing people, situations, or beliefs to hold you back. In your quest to live limitless, it is necessary to focus on the areas that are preventing you from reaching your goals, and trust me, they exist.

If you want your life to change, you need to examine your internal and external roadblocks to see what’s keeping you stuck. Let’s face it, misery loves company. If you don’t feel good about yourself or you’re allowing other people to weigh you down, it’s time to make some adjustments and clear your path for a positive lifestyle.

So many of our problems are the result of our own limiting beliefs and perceptions, so shifting these to support the change you seek is imperative. Our biggest problem is always ourselves, so you must get clear on exactly how you are standing in your own way.

What Are Your Roadblocks?

Before you can figure out what your roadblocks are, you need to audit your life, specify what you want and why you don’t have it already. Once you list the reasons “why you don’t have it,” you will have identified your roadblocks.

Is It Fear of the Unknown?

Change can be scary. If it weren’t, everyone would be exchanging their ordinary life for the perfect one, right? But when you want to live bigger and become a better version of yourself, you’re going to have to get uncomfortable and make a move toward change. The first step is always the hardest, but it’s necessary for growth. Think of the alternative. If you don’t change now, you’re going to remain stuck in the same situation, with the same job and same relationships that don’t fulfill you or support your ambitions.

Is It Your Support Systems?

Are you worried about being judged if you fail or try to do things differently? Let me tell you, anyone who ever achieved the lifestyle they wanted had to go against the grain. Success can be a lonely road because most of the world goes through life just getting by instead of achieving greatness. How many people in your support system are genuinely happy in every aspect of their life? How many of them support your ambitions? If you cannot think of any, you need to audit your support systems and remove those that do not support or bring you value in any way. You are literally the average of your five closest friends, so choose those you surround yourself with wisely. Do not be afraid to remove yourself from online and offline groups or to end any relationships that seem toxic. You must associate yourself with like-minded people if you want to see positive change in your life.

Do You Have Limiting Self-Beliefs?

If you do not believe you can achieve your dreams, it’s because someone put that belief system in your head. Assess and evaluate how you see the world and your place in it. Ask yourself who you are and who you want to become? What do you need to improve to get you there? That’s it. Don’t over complicate it. Do not let your past experiences define you. Every day you have the choice to live better, to be better, so invest in yourself and in your future. You are worthy of the life you want.

Do You Lack Discipline or Motivation?

Take an assessment of your habits and routines because these are the steppingstones to getting where you want to go. Are your actions serving you in obtaining the life you want? Are you making the time to move yourself in the direction of your dreams every day? To see significant improvements in your life, you must discipline yourself to positive changes which include building positive habits, fostering positive thoughts, practicing proper time management, and maintaining a constant, forward momentum toward your goals.

Change is often difficult and overwhelming, and it’s easy to slip back into old habits if you don’t have a solid system in place. Because of this, you must hold yourself accountable. Having a system of accountability will not only keep you on track and motivated, but it will give you the encouragement you need to keep pressing forward. You owe it to yourself to find a good support system or an accountability group that will help you stay on track.

You cannot afford to be intimidated or held back by the hurdles you will face. Do not throw away your dreams. Instead, tighten your belt and race to make those dreams a reality. You can start by making changes and adjustments to the areas above that you feel need improvement. So, what are you waiting for?
